this room reminds me of my old shabby style room  that i had when i was living in Florida. i still have that huge 4 poster bed in storage (at my parents house) waiting for the day that i have an city apartment big enough to hold a queen size bed, but that is just a dream… I love the way this room  still manages to be minimal, relaxing & put together while adorned with a multitude of patterns. i suppose i would attempt to wear all of these necklaces together and hope that it had the same effect!

This is one of my favourite interior shots by well-known Manhattan photographer Adam Friedberg.   The spread was in NY Time’s Styles Section titled “Bachelor Pads.”  I can look past the Hollywood Hills hot-shot producer’s choice of seating  (the obligatory Phillipe Starke Ghost Chair)  and appreciate the to-die-for view.  When I first saw this shot, I was thinking of all the little LA shortys that must come through the doors, party all night and wind up staying the night.    My collection has all the necessities for an impromptu sleepover.  An oversized bag to hold your journal, the new Aura celly and of course every party girl’s secret,YSL’s, Touche Eclat.  If you don’t know about this lifesaver – go and getcha some.  -j.arb

I am inspired by this room because I love the way they mix vintage antique items with a modern flair. I love the the color palette it is very soothing. I especially love the mix of grey and different shades of yellow for your home and your wardrobe. This room is from a blog called Brooklyn Limestone. The unabashed use of color in this room is so inspiring.  It makes me believe that I could get away with wearing tons of color and still manage to look pulled-together rather than chaotic.  Instead of starting with a neutral base, try wearing all multicolored clothing and then add some black and gold accessories.  That’s Jamie Drake’s strategy for dressing a room… so why wouldn’t it work for you in the dressing room?  These pieces together make for a great transitional outfit for those days when the weather isn’t sure whether to act like spring or summer.  Plus, the colors used here are totally fresh and vibrant.  Just like the beginning of summer.
